WorkOnline – Realistic ways to work and make money online in 2020

I see many people here who would like to learn how to work and earn money online.

I am an online worker who tried lots and lots of resources and I want to share my experience.

I will share with you what I tried, what worked for me and what didn’t (but may work for you). It will be a long post because I want to be as accurate as possible.

It took me many months of researches and failures to accumulate this knowledge and I will share it with all of you for free. The only thing I ask is if you could share this post with your friends, on your social networks and so on.

I will include referral and non-referral links. A good way to say thank you would be to use my referral (first link).

It would help me a lot.

I also wrote a comprehensive ebook about making money online but I don’t know if I can post it here so for now I will reply to PM about it and then if mods allow me will include it here.

Let’s begin.

Online Focus Groups

Pay: variable. (from 45$ per 30m up to 120$ per 1h)

You can browse between research studies and apply to the ones that fit your category.

Examples: “Are you planning to open a new bank account?

(45$ – 30 min)”

If you fit this position you can apply and do the screener survey.

After that a researcher *may* message you back and ask you to

schedule a video call (they used Google Hangouts in my case) at a time of your choice .

Often they ask you to record a video of yourself while you use a website or app and to send them the video (they provide you with all the detailed instructions and the free tools to do so).

It is quick and easy and I got paid so it works. Highly suggested!

If you are selected you can easily earn even 120$ in one hour!

Pay: variable. (from 0,50 £ up)

This site specializes in providing research for academic people.

Researchers post their tests, you do them and get paid.

These tests are similar to surveys with some exceptions.

Sometimes they ask you to play a little game and after that they ask you some questions, sometimes you watch a short video and then they ask you some questions about it.

Every test is different but they are easy and it pays.

The only thing to consider is this: tests can disappear quickly so you should *always* keep that tab open and click it when you see “Prolific (1)” because it means there is one test ready for you.

Click the tab and reserve your place. There will be a description of the test, how much pounds they will pay you and a start button to begin.

At the end of each test you will be assigned a code to prove you completed the test.

Usually Prolific intercepts it automatically and saves it under the “submission” page where you can review all the studies (completed, pending, closed, etc.)

ONLINE TESTING

Website: https://www.usertesting.com/

Pay: variable. (from 10$ per test)

It pays you to test websites and record yourself while you share your opinions.

Some tests are desktop only and others are mobile only.

For mobile tests they will ask you to download an app from their website (it is not on the Google Play Store or App Store). To install it you have to enable “install from unknown sources” in the security settings on your phone.

They give you a rating from 1 to 5 stars which is adjusted everytime you take a test. More stars you get, more tests they will send you.

Fitting in the screener surveys can be difficult because they are looking for specific types of people (ex. German people or Japanese speakers or brewery workers etc.) but I passed some of them and got paid.

Most participants can expect one to two tests per week.

Sometimes you get more tests, sometimes less.

Beware that tests disappear quickly so keep the tab open and switch to it as soon as you hear a bell ringing. It means there is a new test available.

Website: https://validately.com/

Pay: variable. (from 10$ per test to even 70$ for a 60 minutes test)

They ask you to install a chrome extension and download their mobile app. Then you will receive an email everytime a desktop or mobile test is available for you.

Website: https://www.sisinternational.com/solutions/focus-groups/join-focus-groups/

Payment details: variable. (from 50$ to 400$ and more)

Website: FindFocusGroups.com

An aggregator service which pools together focus group opportunities from several sources.

REMOTE WORKING COMPANIES

Pay: variable. (depends on the project and the country you are living in)

You can apply for various positions: social media evaluator, annotation project, transcription project, voice recording project, etc.

It may happen that you apply for a position but they will hire you for another one according to your cv, experience and their vacancies.

Some projects are one time only: they ask you to do one thing, you do it, they pay you, job finished.

Others can last for years if you work well.

Note: in many projects they require you to do a mandatory test.

They will assign you the job only if you successfully pass the tests.

Appen often requires you to meet a mandatory accuracy level (ex. 80%) to keep working with them. If you fail to meet their standards they won’t give you more work and your account may be terminated without notice.

Pay: variable (depends on the project and your country)

Similar to Appen. They hire for various roles: map rater, social media evaluator, etc.

Before you can start working you have to take and pass a mandatory test.

For example in the Map Rater position there is an hard test divided in 2 parts: theory questions and map rating. You have to pass it both to start working and they say you have only one chance.

It is an open book exam but to pass it you have to study the 220 pages guidelines pdf plus the 20 pages country specific guidelines pdf.

Personally I passed it on my first try! After a few days I started working.

In my country the salary is 0,35 euro per CORRECT result rated.

Each result has four parameters to rate and if you fail just one of four, the result is considered incorrect and NOT paid.

They also require something like 80% accuracy level and if you fail to meet it… you guessed it: account disabled.

If this happens to you they may email or call you asking to take another test to reactivate your account.

I found it inconvenient because of low pay / too much time to rate results.

Beware that this is just *my personal experience* but in other countries people are paid more so always try by yourself.

I know people who successfully worked with them for years.

Online Testing

These resources will ask you to browse a website on your desktop or mobile phone and provide voice feedback while you use it so web and UI developers can test their websites with a real human being.

Some of them are specific for gaming so they will ask you to download a game, and play it providing your feedback about the experience.

They will ask you to download an so you can record your screen (you don’t need to show yourself) and voice while you play your game.

You get games to play while you record your opinions about them.

Availability of games depends on your device and how many games you listed on your profile.

If you haven’t played many games yet start playing all the the most recommended by the Play Store. The Candy Crush’s, Angry Birds, mobile strike clones, then update your profile with every one you play. Try playing ones from different genres too, Don’t just stick to match3 games. There aren’t any specific games that get you more tests, it’s more about the quantity of different games you have played.

Get Paid To websites (GPT)

In this section you will find websites that pay you to do various tasks and this is why they are known as GPT websites (Get Paid To).

Usually the tasks you can choose are: surveys, microtasks, joining offers, watching video ads, etc.

Each time you complete one task you earn a little money.

I did some surveys. Hard to fit into what they ask for but it pays.

Best website of this type if Swagbucks it is not available in your country.

U.S. Workers: You can transfer your earnings to your Amazon Payments account or to an Amazon.com gift card. You can disburse to your bank account as soon as your earnings are transferred to your Amazon Payments account.

Indian Workers: You can transfer your earnings to an Amazon.com gift card. You may also receive the option to disburse earnings to a bank account.

Other International Workers: You can only transfer your earnings into an Amazon.com gift card.

You apply for an account and must be accepted.

This is not always the case depending on where you live and how much people they have at the moment.

It works better if you live in USA because the majority of tasks are for US people and the pay is better than other countries.

My first task wasn’t paid because I passed the 30 minutes limit time (yes, there is a timer that starts as soon as you begin the task).

In the second task they did not give me the end code to be paid.

Majority of hits are paid a few cents here in Europe and it is not easy to be accepted.

There are lots of different opinions online and some people claim to earn quite well.

I suggest you to try it because your results may be different and you may end liking it.

Website: https://www.earnhoney.com/

One of those websites where you accumulate points doing various tasks: surveys, offers, videos, etc.

There are also a few apps you can download on your smartphone to earn additional points.

The problem is that these apps may not be available in your country and just with the other options is too hard to get enough points to cashout.

GENERIC FREELANCING WEBSITES

Website: http://www.fiverr.com/s2/039d2b9ef7

Pay: variable

Fiverr is an online marketplace for freelance services.

Each service offered is called a “gig”.

The pay you can request for your gigs starts at US$5, and can go up to thousands of dollars with Gig Extras but there is so much competition that in order to get paid you MUST provide a unique service and be the purple cow (see Seth Godin’s book).

Website: https://www.upwork.com/

Pay: variable

Similar to Freelance.com. It seems more professional and legit.

They require you a mandatory VAT number to start working and there are plenty of jobs available for different categories: graphic artists, developers, translators, etc.

Note: you can be rejected if they already have many people with your same skills.

THANK YOU!

Thank you for reading this long post.

If you liked it and want to help me please share it on your social networks and/or other subreddits where you think it can help other people.

Obviously I couldn’t fit every money-earning opportunity I tested in years of trials and errors in a little reddit post so I wrote a complete ebook which is easy to read, full of explanations and contains more than 100 updated tested websites/apps to work and earn money online with proven results.

Since I don’t know if I can post it here you could ask for it in PM at least until mods give me permission to include it in the post.

Thank you so much and remember to upvote/share to your social networks!

Let’s start earning MORE in 2020!
